Since 2003, LA CAUSA has focused on addressing the high school dropout crisis by increasing high school diploma attainment and promoting leadership development amongst youth in the Los Angeles County area. Annually, an average of 85-110 formerly-disengaged youth, ages 16-29, participate and graduate with their high school diploma from LA CAUSA. Our program is unique in the fact that it provides a plan and prepares youth that think it is too late to receive an education to either enter the workforce, follow a vocational education path, or attend an institution of higher education upon completion of the high school diploma. After students have completed our program they continue to receive support from our staff and to take advantage of the many resources we provide. Our program is of utmost importance in the community because it provides a space for youth to feel safe and empowered to face the obstacles and setbacks in their lives. For 16 years, LA CAUSA has been the program where youth is reminded that regardless of their past or current situation, it is never too late to seek an education that can open doors.
