Beatriz Alvarado was born in Tijuana, Mexico and was raised in North Hollywood. Beatriz graduated form Cleveland High School’s Humanities Magnet Program. Cleveland’s progressive curriculum first nurtured and fueled her dedication to social justice. She attended Scripps College in Claremont where she double majored and received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Chicano Studies. She also minored in Studio Art. Beatriz was then accepted into the Public Allies Los Angeles Program. She chose to be placed at LA CAUSA YouthBuild in East Los Angeles because of its vision and commitment to serve as the tools that lead to the empowerment of historically disenfranchised youth.
